Penguins forward Mike Comrie underwent successful hip surgery and is expected to be sidelined for three to four months. The surgery was performed in Vail, Colo., by Dr. Marc Philippon.
Comrie had been in and out of the lineup since suffering the hip injury on Oct. 9 during the second game of the season against the Montreal Canadiens. He has missed the past 15 games due to the injury and was placed on injured reserve Dec. 10.
