The Pirates have placed Jeff Clement on the DL with “left knee irritation” and have recalled reliever Justin Thomas from Indianapolis.
This is a very minor move – Clement wasn’t playing much anyway, and Thomas was likely to come up when rosters expand September 1, so this just means he’s here a week early.
