Pirates Claim Chan Ho Park, Designate Steven Jackson For Assignment

Stay connected for news and updates

The Pirates have claimed pitcher Chan Ho Park from the Yankees. To make room for Park and Resop, the Pirates moved Steve Pearce (who’s out for the season) to the 60-day DL and designated Steven Jackson for assignment. I would imagine Jackson will clear waivers and wind up back at Class AAA Indianapolis.

Like I said earlier, I love the Resop addition. Park is less of a slam dunk, but he has the ability to go multiple innings if the Pirates need him to. He was awful this year with the Yankees, though, and it’s amazing he’s still around, since his history since leaving the Dodgers in 2001 has been checkered, to say the least.
