Stay connected for news and updates

Sidney Crosby has been cleared by doctors to resume contact in practice while he continues to rehab from his concussion. I'll give you a second to contain yourself so that you don't get caught reading sports at work ...

You can read more about the injury in this StoryStream, but we wanted to provide some visual evidence in case word of mouth wasn't convincing enough for you. Here is a picture of Crosby during practice, wearing the same black helmet as everyone else on his team. When he was injured, he had to wear a different color helmet so his teammates knew not to hit him. Tweeted by Pens Inside Scoop.

Now before you change our plans so that you can watch Crosby skate against the Capitals tonight, be warned that his return to an actual game is probably still a little ways away. Crosby will have to get some contact practice time with his teammates then likely get another level of clearance before he is ready to return to the ice. But for an injury that has been so tough to measure, any progress is welcome.
