The Pittsburgh Penguins will have a relatively slow week this week as the only games on their weekday schedule are a home and home series with the New York Islanders.
The Pittsburgh Penguins are playing some good hockey of late despite being left pretty short-handed by various injuries. They have a fairly easy travel and playing schedule this week, as they'll play just two games between now and the weekend, both against the New York Islanders. They start by traveling to Long Island for a Tuesday game before returning to Pittsburgh for a return matchup on Thursday.
The Islanders have played just six games so far this season and are a clean 3-3-0 for six points. They've lost their last two games to the Lightning and the Panthers. They have been below league average in goals scored this year, at just 2.3 per game, but their defense is top-ten in the league, allowing the same exact numberof goals as they score.
We'll be following both of these games throughout the week on SB Nation Pittsburgh. For more on the Penguins, head on over to PensBurgh.
