Penguins Vs. Panthers Score Update: Chris Kunitz And Jordan Staal Score, But Teams Tied 2-2 Entering Third Period

The 11-5-3 Pens are looking to notch another in the win column against the 9-6-3 Florida Panthers on the road.

The Pittsburgh Penguins are locked in a stalemate with the Florida Panthers 2-2 after two periods of play.

Chris Kunitz scored his seventh goal of the season on an assist by Pascal Dupuis to open up the scoring early in the first period, striking in just over a minute. Brian Campbell opened the scoring for the Panthers midway through the first period on assists from Kris Versteeg and Stephen Weiss, tying the game 1-1.

The second period saw the Panthers briefly take the lead 2-1 midway through the period on a power-play goal by Tomas Fleischmann, his eighth, and assists coming from Stephen Weiss and Dmitry Kulikov. But seven minutes later the Pens equalized on a goal by Jordan Staal, his tenth, with assists by Pascal Dupuis and Matt Niskanen, tying the game at 2-2.

Though most areas of this game are pretty equal, the Panthers are struggling with their giveaways. The Panthers do have a decided advantage in takeaways, however.
