Penguins Drop Game To Panthers, 3-2

Still missing the presence and goal-scoring of Sidney Crosby, the Pittsburgh Penguins dropped a 3-2 decision on the road to the Florida Panthers Saturday night. Despite scoring first, the Penguins were unable to maintain the momentum, allowing scores by Brian Campbell, Tomas Fleischmann and Stephen Weiss.

After the opening goal just over a minute into the game, the Panthers responded with the Brian Campbell goal minutes later in the first period, tying the score 1-1. The Panthers then took the lead in the second period on the Tomas Fleischmann power-play goal with assists by Stephen Weiss and Dmitry Kulikov.

The Penguins answered seven minutes later in the period with Jordan Staal's tenth goal of the season, assisted by Pascal Dupuis and Matt Niskanen, to make the score 2-2. But the Panthers maintained the lead and extended it late in the third period on a Stephen Weiss power-play goal with assists by Kris Versteeg and Tomas Fleischmann.

With the win the Panthers move to 10-6-3 . With the loss, the Penguins fall to 11-6-3.
