Ben Roethlisberger and the Pittsburgh Steelers' offense rolled through the Browns defense on their first possession and were well on their way to a score on their second before a turnover. At the end of the first quarter, the Steelers led the Browns 7-3 and were on the move before Hines Ward, closing in on his 1,000th catch, fumbled on a wide receiver screen. The Browns fell on the ball and the Steelers drive quickly stalled.
Troy Polamalu, however, would pick up Ward and take the ball right back for Pittsburgh. The Steelers safety jumped a Colt McCoy pass intended for Evan Moore, picking it off and returning it 30 yards to the ten yard line. With Pittsburgh deep in the red zone looking to extend their lead, Big Ben would dump it off to Heath Miller who turned up an open field. Browns cornerback Joe Haden went to his knees to take out Miller and popped the ball loose. The Browns recovered and avoided the imminent Pittsburgh score.
Both teams have moved the ball, but the two turnovers in seven plays have kept Pittsburgh's lead to four points. Big Ben has thrown only one incompletion, lighting up the Cleveland secondary with 102 yards passing.
