A.J. West Commits To Duquesne

The Recruit Scoop reports that 6-foot-8 power forward A.J. West has committed to Duquesne for the 2011-2012 school year.

After graduating from Ocean Academy in Bayville, New Jersey in 2010, West spent last season playing at the CJEOTO basketball academy where he averaged 21 points, 16 rebounds, and seven blocks.

After announcing his intentions to play for Duquesne he told The Recruit Scoop:

"Their style of play just fits me best with the run and gun. I feel it's the perfect level of competition and it is close to home."

The Dukes were also heavily involved in a recruiting battle with Saint Bonaventure for Youssou N'Doye, a 6-foot-9 forward from Lee, Maine. After signing West however, it appears the Dukes have found their forward to replace recently departed forwards Damian Saunders and Joel Wright

Here is his highlight reel.

West will join guard P.J. Torres, swingman Daniel Herrera, and Kadeem Pantophlet as members of Duquesne's 2011 recruiting class.
