Despite neither teams' ability to qualify for the Big Ten's championship game or a postseason bowl, the showdown between the Ohio State Buckeyes and Penn State Nittany Lions will feature two teams on extended winning streaks midway through the season.
After starting the year with two losses, the Nittany Lions have reeled off five straight wins, capped by a 38-14 victory over the Iowa Hawkeyes in Iowa last weekend. Quarterback Matt McGloin has passed for nearly 1,800 yards and 14 touchdowns while helping Penn State overcome the blow of NCAA sanctions.
Ohio State comes in undefeated and ranked in the top 10 in the AP Poll, the only of the three polls the Buckeyes are eligible for. Despite a rough tackle that forced quarterback Braxton Miller to leave the Buckeyes' game with the Purdue Boilermakers and visit the hospital, Miller is expected to play.
