Sean Patterson and the Duquesne Dukes play host to the Monmouth Hawks in an NEC clash.
The Monmouth Hawks will take on the Duquesne Dukes on Saturday afternoon at Rooney Field.
The Dukes have been very impressive this season, sporting a 5-2 overall record and 3-1 in the Northeast Conference. Duquesne has also been hot recently, winning five of its last six contests including last weekend against the Sacred Heart Pioneers, 35-3.
In the victory over Sacred Heart, the Dukes' defense was terrific. The unit only allowed 215 total yards including just 92 rushing on 35 attempts.
Offensively, it was quarterback Sean Patterson who stole the show with three rushing touchdowns on the afternoon to accompany two scoring tosses.
Monmouth hasn't been as successful in 2012, holding a 3-4 mark, 2-2 in the NEC. The Hawks have been trending downward lately, losing three consecutive games despite scoring at least 24 points in each.
Last Saturday against the Bryant Bears, Monmouth couldn't hold a late 24-21 lead when Bryant scored the winning touchdown with 2:14 remaining.
