After Saturday's games, the 2012 Big Ten standings became a little clearer. Although Ohio State and Penn State are ineligible for the 2012 postseason, they both retain a better record than Wisconsin in the Leaders Division.
The Nebraska Cornhuskers defeated Michigan State, 28-24, on Saturday and control their destiny in the Legends Division. Nebraska defeated Michigan earlier in the season and can win the division if they win their three remaining games, on of which is against Penn State.
Penn State remains one game behind Ohio State in the Leaders Division. Neither team is eligible for the postseason so the Wisconsin Badgers at 3-2 in Big Ten play is leading the division. The Nittany Lions would need help in the final weeks of the season to top Ohio State for a consolation prize as the Buckeyes defeated on Oct. 27.
