2012 bowl game schedule: Ranked Boise State highlights weekend slate of bowls

Elsewhere, East Carolina looks to snap a long bowl losing streak while Ball State tries to extend a six-game winning streak to end its season.

As bowl season slowly gets into gear, this weekend will feature three games from around the country that, while not featuring the brightest teams, still provide plenty of intriguing matchups. Here is this weekend's schedule for bowling, featuring one ranked squad and five teams capping off big years.

Beef O'Brady's Bowl: Ball State Cardinals vs. UCF Knights, Dec. 21 at 7:30 p.m. ET on ESPN

A runners-up finish in Conference USA spelled a berth in the Beef 'O'Brady's bowl for UCF while Ball State puts a six-game winning streak on the line on Friday night.

New Orleans Bowl: East Carolina Pirates vs. Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin' Cajuns at noon ET on ESPN

East Carolina hasn't won its bowl game in its last three tries, and standing in its way of a first victory are the Rajin' Cajuns, who come in on a three-game winning streak.

Maaco Bowl Las Vegas: Washington Huskies vs. Boise State Broncos at 3:30 p.m. ET on ESPN

Just one year before the two teams begin a home-and-home in 2013 and 2015, Washington and No. 19 Boise State will meet for the second time ever in Las Vegas.
