The Marshall Thundering Herd (17-11, 8-6 C-USA) men's basketball team currently sits in a tie for fifth place in Conference USA, with two games remaining on the regular season schedule before the conference tournament. Marshall had their three game winning streak snapped Saturday when they lost 87-67 to C-USA leader Memphis.

Complete standings can be found below.

Conference USA Standings

Memphis, 11-3, 21-8
Southern Miss, 10-4, 23-6
Tulsa, 10-4, 17-11
UCF, 9-5, 20-8
Marshall, 8-6, 17-11
UAB, 8-6, 13-14
Rice, 7-7, 16-13

Marshall has a chance to jump up to perhaps the three seed in the tournament with wins in their final two games, and won't be an easy out, as non-conference wins over Cincinnati and Iona show the Thundering Herd are a formidable foe for anyone.

The 2012 Conference USA Basketball Championship will be played March 6-10 in Memphis at the FedEx Forum, the eight time overall the city of Memphis has hosted the tournament.
