The Penn State Lady Lions saw their season come to an end in the Sweet 16 Sunday afternoon, as they could not find a way to beat the UConn Huskies who trounced them 77-59.

After trailing 43-29 at the half, Penn State did a better job hanging with UConn, however they could not make a comeback attempt.

Bria Hartley had a game-high 20 points and added four assists. Lady Lion Mia Nickson put in a valiant effort, with 19 points and 8-of-12 shooting. She would not get much help from her teammates however, as the Lady Lions shot just 35.5 percent as a team.

This is the eighth consecutive season that the Huskies have advanced to the Elite 8. They will play for a spot in the Final Four against the winner of the Gonzaga-Kentucky game being played later Sunday night on Tuesday.
