Flyers Vs. Penguins Score Update: Pittsburgh Leads 3-0 After First Period

The Pittsburgh Penguins got the early jump on their bitter rivals, the Philadelphia Flyers, on Wednesday night in the first game of their playoff series. The Penguins came out aggressive early on against the Flyers and it paid off with an early Sidney Crosby goal to take a 1-0 lead in the game.

You can see the long shot saved by Ilya Bryzgalov, but Sidney Crosby was right there to slap in the rebound for the early goal.

The Penguins weren't done with just that goal however, as Tyler Kennedy picked up another goal for the Penguins. Pittsburgh got a two-on-one look as they raced down the ice as Jordan Staal passed the puck over to Kennedy for the score to put the Penguins up over the Flyers 2-0 in the first period.

The Penguins offense has been all over the Flyers early on in the game and seemed to overwhelm Philadelphia. The two goals weren't enough for the Penguins as Pascal Dupuis added a third goal for Pittsburgh in the first period. Bryzgalov just couldn't seem to find the puck before it made it's way into the net.
