2012 NFL Draft Results: Steelers Select Ohio State's Mike Adams With No. 56 Pick

With the No. 56 pick overall and No. 24 pick of Round 2, the Pittsburgh Steelers selected offensive tackle Mike Adams out of Ohio State. Adams had somewhat of a tumultuous process in the run up to the draft, testing positive for marijuana at the Scouting Combine and also under-performing on the strength tests in Indianapolis. Adams, however, is enormous 6-foot-7 elite athlete who joins a couple Ohio State products that the Steelers have selected high in the draft over the past 10 years, in particular former teammate Cameron Heyward.

The Steelers added some much needed depth along the offensive line in the 1st round, selecting what many feel was the best offensive guard prospect in the draft in David DeCastro out of Stanford. There's little doubt DeCastro will have an instant impact and be a starter from day one, and Mike Adams could very well join him in Week 1 along the offensive line.

With two picks now in the fold, the Steelers still have one more scheduled selection on Friday night with the 23rd pick in the 3rd round.
