The NFL Draft is the ultimate generator of news and notes. We spend months trying to figure out where every single eligible player will get drafted (something we have very little success with by the way), then as soon as it's over, we immediately turn our attention to next year's version. The decorations are likely still up at Radio City, but it's time to start looking ahead to 2013.

The guys over at SB Nation hate time off, so they have already come out with their 2013 NFL Mock Draft, and they have the Steelers taking LSU outside linebacker Barkevious Mingo with the sixteenth overall pick.

The Steelers really need to replenish the cupboard with defensive talent. Adding Mingo to the mix keeps opposing quarterbacks in fear of the Steelers.

I understand the Minog pick, and he would certainly be a good eventual replacement for James Harrison, but the big story is that they think the Steelers will be picking No. 16, while they have the Texans winning the Super Bowl.

Behind the Steel Curtain did a 2013 Mock Draft as well, and they of course have the Steelers picking No. 32 after winning the Super Bowl next year. They have the team drafting Missisippi State cornerback Jonathan Banks.

But when all is said and done I think given the prospects still on the board the Steelers will pick Jonathan Banks from MSU. He has good size at 6’2", 185lbs. which is something the Steelers prefer in their CB’s. He also has 12 career interceptions, including two off of Tim Tebow which he returned for touchdowns.
