The Players at TPC Sawgrass is widely considered the best non-major tournament on the PGA calendar. Who will take it this week?
Englishman Ian Poulter currently has the lead at the 2012 Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla after shooting a seven-under 66. American Blake Adams finished his first round with six-under 66 to give him the early edge over the rest of the field before Poultier took the lead.
American Kevin Na is third place after shooting a five-under 67. Michael Thompson, Harrison Frazar and Matt Kuchar are both tied with a four-under 68. Six other golfers are tied at three-under, including Irishman Padraig Harrington.
Other notable golfers that have finished their opening round include Hunter Mahan and Tiger Woods both shooting two-over 74s.
