The Pirates open up a three-game series against the Cubs at PNC Park.
The Pittsburgh Pirates open a three-game home series tonight as they welcome the Chicago Cubs to PNC Park. A.J. Burnett (2-2, 4.78 ERA) will take the mound for the Pirates, and he'll be facing off against the Cubs' Ryan Dempster (0-2, 2.28 ERA).
Pittsburgh has won each of Burnett's last three starts, as he's generally settled down since giving up 12 runs in less than three innings against the Cardinals earlier this month. Burnett is sporting a 3.60 ERA in his last four starts against Chicago -- all of which he's won. Dempster, on the other hand, is 2-5 with a 5.93 ERA against Pittsburgh since 2010.
The Cubs have a National League-worst record of 15-29, and they've lost their last nine games. Pittsburgh comes into this one with a 20-24 mark.
The game starts at 7:05 p.m. and will be shown on Root Sports.
