Novak Djokovic and Victoria Azarenka are the number one players in the world in men's and women's tennis.
The 2012 French Open begins play on Sunday, May 27th. Two groups of 64 men and women will compete for the Grand Slam title on the clay court at Roland Garros.
The French Open is always packed with star power in the world of tennis and this years field is no different. Here's a look at the number one players in the world on the men's and women's side.
Novak Djokovic
Djokovic comes in as the number one tennis player in the world. He's gone 30-5 this year and has won the last three Grand Slam tournaments and is looking to be the first player since Rod Laver in 1969 to win four in a row. One thing working against Djokovic? He's never been to a final at Roland Garros.
Victoria Azarenka
The 22 year old from Belarus enters the French Open as the number one player in the world on the women's side. She's gone 35-3 in 2012 and this is the first time she's been the number one seed at a Grand Slam tournament.
