French Open Results: Agnieszka Radwanska Loses, Four Men's Matches Go Five Sets

The biggest upset on Friday at Roland Garros was No.3 ranked women's player Agnieszka Radwanska of Poland. She lost in straight sets to Svetlana Kuznetsova of Russia, 6-1, 6-2. No. 2 ranked Maria Sharapova won her second-round match, delayed from Thurday, over Ayumi Morita of Japan, 6-1, 6-1.

The notable American winner from Friday is 19-year-old Sloane Stephens of Fort Lauderdale, Fla. She defeated Mathilde Johansson of France 6-3, 6-2 to advance to the fourth round, where she will face No. 6-ranked Samantha Stosur of Australia. Stosur won her third-round match over No. 27 Nadia Petrova of Russia in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3.

Other women's winners include No. 1 Victoria Azarenka, No. 10 Angelique Kerber, No. 15 Dominika Cibulkova, No. 21 Sara Errani and Petra Martic, who upset No. 29 Anabel Medina Garrigues.

The men's side of the tournament saw four matches go the full five sets. The most impressive of the four was the victory by No. 18 Stanislas Warwinka of Switzerland over No. 11 Gilles Simon of France. The five-set thriller included two tiebreakers, both won by Simon, before Warwinka took control of the final two sets and won 7-5, 6-7 (5-7), 6-7 (3-7), 6-3, 6-2. The other five set winners on Friday were No. 7 Tomas Berdych, No. 20 Marcel Granollers and No. 22 Andreas Seppi.

No. 3 ranked Roger Federer trailed in the fourth set to Nicolas Mahut of France, but Federer came back and won in four sets against Mahut 6-3, 4-6, 6-2, 7-5. Other men's winners include No. 1 Novak Djokovic, No. 5 Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, No. 9 Juan Martin del Potro and David Goffin.
