Jordan Staal Reportedly Turns Down 10-Year Offer From Pittsburgh Penguins

Jordan Staal has reportedly turned down an offer of a 10-year extension from the Pittsburgh Penguins to stay with the team, which will only amp up the rumors that he will be traded before or during the NHL Draft. TSN's Bob McKenzie dropped the news on twitter.

Penguins general manager Ray Shero has previously said that he will not trade Staal, but if McKenzie is correct and Staal has no intention of signing any kind of contract extension, Shero's hand might be forced. The 23-year-old only has one year remaining on his contract and is coming off of the most efficient scoring season of his career.

What happens to Staal is anyone's guess, but the NHL Draft just became must-watch television.
