Free agent forward Zach Parise is reportedly going to announce which NHL team he will sign with on Monday. In addition to the Pittsburgh Penguins, a handful of other teams are on his list. Reports Monday add the Minnesota Wild to the list of teams with a shot at signing Parise.
The Wild announced on Sunday that they had made Parise a contract offer, along with Predators defenseman Ryan Suter. Reports also cited sources claiming that the Wild will not be outspent in their pursuit of Parise, who is a Minneapolis native. The team wooed him recently, trying to sell him on a young talent base and the chance to build a winner in his home state.
The Penguins are one team in the mix to land Parise, along with the Detroit Red Wings and the New Jersey Devils who hope to re-sign the forward following their run to the Stanley Cup finals.
