With a win in straight sets, Serena Williams advanced to the final at the 2012 Championships at Wimbledon for the seventh time in her career. With 24 aces, a Wimbledon record for women's singles, Williams was broken in just one game and defeated No. 2 ranked Victoria Azarenka of Belarus.
Williams beat Azarenka with a 6-3 victory in the first set, but required a tiebreak to win the second set after she was broken in her first game in two matches.
The No. 6 seeded Williams has defeated three seeded opponents in her path to the final, including two players, Azarenka and Petra Kvitova, that owned a lower seed than the American. Now she'll face the world's No. 3 ranked player, Agnieszka Radwanska of Poland in the final, following Radwanska's straight sets victory over Angelique Kerber.
The women's singles championship final between Williams and Radwanska will be played on Saturday. For a complete scoreboard and results, please check out the Sports Illustrated Wimbledon Scoreboard.
