2012 Wimbledon Championships: Roger Federer Defeats Andy Murray In Men's Final

Stay connected for news and updates

Despite the best efforts of hometown hero Andy Murray, it was not enough to stop a vintage performance from Roger Federer, who captured the 2012 Wimbledon Men's Final, 4-6, 7-5, 6-3, 6-4.

While Murray was able to capture momentum early in the match, winning the first set, Federer then took over, as he had an answer for every move Murray made the rest of the match. Federer was further aided by a rain storm that moved through during the third set, which forced the roof to be closed and aided his serves.

This is the seventh Wimbledon title for Federer all-time and his 17th Grand Slam title.
