The 2012 PGA Championship will begin on Thursday, August 9 as Tiger Woods looks for his first major win in over four years.
In the 2011 PGA Championship, Keegan Bradley became the third player to ever win a major tournament in his tournament debut while some of the world's most popular golfers, including former champions of the tournament Tiger Woods and Vijay Singh, missed the tournament cut.
Bradley didn't win another tournament for nearly a year after winning the 2011 PGA Championship, but got himself back on track by winning the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational on Sunday. But if Bradley hopes to carry that momentum into a repeat he'll have to beat a revamped field that features Woods back on his game following a third place finish at the U.S. Open.
Woods, currently ranked No. 2 in the world, enters the tournament as the favorite to win his first major tournament since winning the 2008 U.S. Open. Also featured in the field is Penn State alum Daniel Balin who finished No. 150 in the 2011 PGA Championship.
The 2012 PGA Championship will begin on Thursday, August 9 before ending on Sunday, August 12 and will be hosted at the Ocean Course at Kiawah Island Golf Resort in South Carolina.
