After a 2-1 non-conference start to the season, the Duquesne Dukes travel to Smithfield, R.I. to take on Bryant University on Saturday in both teams' Northeast Conference opener. The game features two of the most decorated running backs in the FCS, as Duquesne's Larry McCoy ranks second of active players in career rushing yards. Bryant's Jordan Brown ranks third.

The Dukes are coming off a dominant performance in a 45-17 thrashing of Valparaiso in Indiana last Saturday. Duquesne found themselves down 17-7 early in the first quarter, but managed to shut out the Crusaders the rest of the way while running up the scoreboard in the process. McCoy rushed for over 100 yards for the school-record 21st time while finding the end zone three times. Quarterback Sean Patterson was efficient, completing 20 of 25 passes for 260 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Bryant is winless in three contests and was trounced by Maine 51-7 in their last contest.

This is the fifth meeting ever between the two schools, with the series tied 2-2. Bryant won last year's game in Pittsburgh, though Duquesne went on to win the NEC.
