ESPN's weekly Big East bowl projections are out and for the first time in a while, the Panthers are picked to play in the postseason.
Big East blogger Andrea Adelson says the Panthers will face a Big 12 team in the New Era Pinstripe Bowl. Any bowl, of course, would be welcome for Pitt after they started out 0-2 and were left for dead by many. But just as welcome would be a change from the BBVA Compass Bowl, where Pitt has played in each of the past two years.
With games against Syracuse, Temple, UConn, Buffalo, and South Florida, the Panthers will have a good chance to get to the necessary six wins. But four of those games are on the road and there's no guarantee that Pitt will be playing in a bowl game. This much is clear, though - the Panthers are in a better position than they were two weeks ago.
