The Indiana offense wastes no time attacking the Penn State defense, completing a couple of passes over midfield, then throwing another deep ball that falls incomplete. The Hoosiers are trying to hurry things up, here, so we'll see how the Nittany Lions respond to that. They haven't faced much no-huddle so far this year.
Penn State finally stops Indiana, forcing a 49-yard field goal attempt, but the Hoosiers convert on the kick by Mitch Ewald.
Indiana Scoring Summary: 8 plays, 47 yards, 1:46 time of possession. It's 3-0 Hoosiers with 6:51 left in the first quarter.
Indiana quarterback Dusty Kiel is 5-8 for 54 yards so far this afternoon.
On Penn State's ensuing drive, Derek Moye drops another deep ball from Rob Bolden. Drops were a problem in Penn State's first two games against Indiana State and Alabama, then things got better in wins against Temple and Eastern Michigan. We'll see if the Penn State receivers regress again today.
After Bolden misfires on a couple more passes and the Penn State drive is kept alive by a roughing-the-passer penalty, Silas Redd makes some things happen with a couple long runs to get the Lions into Indiana territory. He's running hard today. Though he's not finding a bunch of holes, when he does, he's making the most of them.
A couple more Bolden incompletions stalls the Penn State drive, though, so Penn State gives the ball up again, this time on a punt. Fortunately for the Lions, punter Anthony Fera came up with a beautiful boot, pinning the Hoosiers inside their own 5-yardline.
