Penn State vs. Purdue: Rob Bolden Gets Another Start

Stay connected for news and updates

Rob Bolden is still Penn State's starting quarterback.

The sophomore was the first guy player off the bus for the seventh time this season, a sign he'll once again be the Nittany Lions' man under center for this afternoon's game against Purdue at Beaver Stadium.

Matthew McGloin will presumably come off the bench again, as he has all season, even in game's like last week when he received a majority of the snaps and pass attempt.

In other pre-game news, the wind is really whipping around here in Happy Valley today. Accuweather.com says gusts could reach 40 miles per hour today, and at the moment, the site says winds are coming from the southwest at 28 miles per hour. It'll be worth keeping an eye on how that affects special teams today.

There's not a whole lot to update on the injury front, as most of that news was spelled out on Thursday. Wide receiver Derek Moye is not expected to play after breaking his foot on Tuesday, but D'Anton Lynn, Brandon Beachum and Stephon Morris are all expected to be available for coach Joe Paterno today.

Speaking of Paterno, he's down on the field for warmups, which is usually a signal he plans to start the game on the sideline. He told reporters at his weekly press conference on Tuesday that he'd tweaked his injury evading an Iowa player along the sideline last week, but it looks like he's going to try and give it a go from the start today.
