Penn State vs. Purdue: Boilermakers Get A Field Goal, Trail 7-3

Stay connected for news and updates

With the wind blowing hard here at Beaver Stadium, Anthony Fera knocks the kickoff following Penn State's touchdown out of the end zone for a touchback. The Boilermakers don't stay pinned for long, however, as Caleb TerBush hits Justin Siler for 50 yards deep into Penn State territory. Siler got a nice block to elude a would-be tackler after the catch, and he was off to the races from there. Big break down from the Nittany Lions' defense there. That's the biggest play they've allowed on defense so far this season.

After earning another first down, though, the Boilermakers are stopped again by the Penn State defense. Carson Wiggs comes on for his second field goal attempt of the day, and hits on this one, a 28-yarder to get Purdue on the board. With 1:39 remaining in the first quarter, it's now 7-3 Penn State.

Purdue scoring summary: 8 plays, 69 yards, 2:59 time of possession.
