The Penn State Nittany Lions defeated the Purdue Boilermakers Saturday, 23-18, intercepting Caleb TerBush with two and a half minutes left to seal the deal. Nathan Stupar’s second interception of the day allowed the Nittany Lions to run out the clock.

Both Matthew McGloin and Rob Bolden again played at quarterback for the Nittany Lions. McGloin got more opportunities (going 8-for-17 with 145 yards and an interception), but neither did particularly well. Instead, Penn State leaned on Silas Redd, who ran the ball 28 times for 131 yards and a third-quarter touchdown. In the first quarter, Curtis Dukes also had a rushing touchdown. Anthony Fera went 3-for-3 on field goal attempts. One of those came following a 92-yard kickoff return by Chaz Powell in the fourth quarter.

Justin Brown had 86 yards receiving.

Purdue got 97 yards rushing from Ralph Bolden and 54 yards and a touchdown from Akeem Shavers. TerBush had 162 yards passing, with a touchdown and two interceptions.

The Nittany Lions are now 6-1, and 3-0 in Big Ten play.
