Earlier this week it was reported that Penn State had focused it's coaching search on Mike Munchak, an alum and the current head coach of the Tennessee Titans. Munchak has now made a statement about the position, and it appears as though Penn State will have to look elsewhere for a new coach.
"I love my alma mater, but I have no interest in being the head coach at Penn St," Munchak said. "I never want to leave Tennessee." #Titans

It is not uncommon for a coach to say he has no interest in a job he will ultimately accept, especially when he still has work to do in his current position like Munchak does with the Titans. He still has one more game to coach there in the regular season. If they lose that game and the Titans miss the playoffs, it's possible that he may change his tune. But as of right now, he sounds pretty resolute.
"I have a great deal of respect for Penn St and I hope they find a great coach there," Munchak said. "But I am happy where I'm at."
