Penn State Coaching Search: Tom Clements To Interview In Person, According To Report

Stay connected for news and updates

Green Bay Packers quarterbacks coach Tom Clements has been connected to the Penn State head coaching position since Rob Rossi and Bob Cohn of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reported on Dec. 6 that the McKees Rocks native had applied for the job.

Since then, according to Ron Musselman of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, he's interviewed for the position with acting athletic director David Joyner's six-person search committee twice, once via Skype, the other via phone.

Now, Musselman says Clements will get an in-person interview next week. His 14-1 Packers will be enjoying a first-round bye in the NFL playoffs, which presumably will give him time to finally meet with the Penn State brass in person.

Clements' Green Bay pupil, Aaron Rodgers, has thrown for 4,643 yards and 45 touchdowns against just six interceptions heading into Sunday's regular season finale against the Detroit Lions.
