Blue White Illustrated reported on Friday that Mississippi State coach Dan Mullen will interview for the head coach opening at Penn State on Monday. As Brandon Marcello of the Clarion-Ledger reports, however, Mullen has denied such an interview will take place.
When asked point blank if he will interview for the Penn State job Monday, Mullen said, succinctly, "No."
Mullen has repeatedly denied ties to Penn State since ESPN's Joe Schad reported he was a front runner for the Penn State job last Tuesday. The third-year coach just finished up a 6-6 campaign with the Bulldogs and has stated repeatedly that his focus remains on Mississippi State football.
Penn State, in the mean time, will likely find out its bowl fate on Sunday evening, as committees across the country make their selections for postseason games.
