Ticket City Bowl 2012: Penn State To Face Houston Cougars In Dallas

It appears that Penn State will face the Houston Cougars in the Ticket City Bowl on January 2nd.

It's likely that the 9-3 Penn State Nittany Lions will be playing at the Cotton Bowl on January 2nd, almost certainly against Houston in the the Ticket City Bowl. The Ticket City Bowl has the 7th choice of Big Ten teams, as PSU fell behind 6-6 Northwestern and Ohio State in the pecking order on Sunday night. Ron Musselman quoted the Ticket City Bowl's CEO, who indicated that they would love to host the Nittany Lions.

Via Ron Musselman of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette:

TicketCity Bowl CEO Tom Starr tells the Post-Gazette: "We'd love to have Penn State; we'd be honored." Likely opponent Jan. 2 is Houston.

In just over 24 hours, the Houston Cougars went from a BCS game to playing in the Ticket City Bowl. The Cougars were beaten badly at home yesterday by Southern Miss in the Conference USA title game.
