The favorites prevailed in the four NCAA Women’s Tournament games on Sunday, as Connecticut, Duke, Texas A&M, and Baylor all joined Tennessee, Stanford, Notre Dame and Gonzaga in the Elite Eight.

No. 1 UConn beat No. 5 Georgetown, 68-63, as Connecticut continued its run to a third straight national title. Maya Moore had 23 points for the Huskies.

No. 2 Duke defeated No. 3 DePaul, 70-63, proving conclusively that Blue Devils are better than Blue Demons. Karima Christmas led Duke with 23 points and nine boards.

No. 2 Texas A&M embarrassed No. 6 Georgia, 79-38, with Danielle Adams putting up 23 points and 14 rebounds. Texas A&M led by scores of 13-0 and 27-2 and went into halftime with a lead of 48-17.

Finally, No. 1 Baylor knocked off No. 5 Green Bay, 86-76, with the amazing Brittney Griner (who was also a big part of Baylor’s tournament victory over West Virginia last week) piling up 40 points, 10 rebounds and six blocks. Kayla Tetschlag scored 27 points for Green Bay.
