Penn State Coaching Search: Agent Says Greg Roman A Finalist

Early Saturday, the Big Ten Network's Tim Dienhart reported that San Francisco 49ers offensive coordinator Greg Roman is a candidate to replace Joe Paterno as head coach at Penn State. Later on Saturday, Roman's agent appeared to confirm as much, according to the Associated Press.

There is no comment on Roman's candidacy from Penn State.

Roman, who has worked as an assistant with the Carolina Panthers, Houston Texans, Baltimore Ravens and Stanford Cardinal, spent his entire coaching career before working with the 49ers as a positional coach. This is is first season overseeing an entire unit.
