ESPN's latest version of "Bracketology" with Joe Lunardi is out and both Pitt and West Virginia are slotted in the bracket.
Lunardi picks Pitt to play Florida State as a No. 5 seed in the Atlanta region. The Panthers' region is viscous, with Ohio State slotted as the No. 1 seed and North Carolina picked as the No. 2 seed. Defending national champion Connecticut (No. 3 seed) and Florida (No. 4 seed) are also in Pitt's end of the bracket.
West Virginia is expected to face No. 5 seed UNLV as a No. 12 seed in the St. Louis region. Kentucky earns the top seed in that regions while Louisville, Kansas and Michigan State round out the top four seeds.
Pitt faces South Carolina State at the Petersen Events Center on Saturday. West Virginia is next in action on Saturday, too, facing Texas A&M-CC in Morgantown.
Penn State, at 6-5, does not appear in Lunardi's current field of 68.
