Barack Obama's NCAA Tournament Bracket Comes Up Empty In Final Four

President Barack Obama’s NCAA March Madness bracket is officially kaput, as he missed all the teams in the Final Four. Picking all four No. 1 seeds to make the Final Four in a year full of upsets will do that. Kansas was the last remaining team in Obama’s bracket still alive, but the Jayhawks dropped out of the tournament when they lost to VCU.

Obama picked all four No. 1 seeds to reach the Final Four in Houston, but Pittsburgh, Ohio State, Duke and Kansas have all been eliminated during a wild NCAA tournament filled with upsets …

Obama filled out a bracket for ESPN for the third straight year. He is in the 94th percentile out of 5.9 million brackets submitted on ESPN.com.

Obama’s hardly alone in missing the boat on the Final Four, of course. There might be some folks who picked UConn and Kentucky to make it, but predicting Butler to make yet another run to the Final Four would have been just too weird, and nobody picked VCU except maybe a few crazy alums still reliving their college days while living in the Fan in Richmond. All things considered, Obama didn’t do too badly. He correctly picked Marquette, Richmond, Gonzaga and Florida State as lower-seeded teams to win in the first round, and nailed 28 of 32 first-round games overall. It was only in the second round that things started to go haywire for him – and probably everyone else, too.
