VCU Vs. Butler Score, NCAA Final Four: VCU Jumps Out To Early Lead

Stay connected for news and updates

The VCU Rams have jumped out to a 15-7 lead early in the first half of their Final Four matchup against Butler.

VCU’s basic game plan has been to play very aggressively on defense, forcing Butler to take awkward shots. Then, VCU gets the ball and runs down the court as quickly as possible and find the first open three-pointer it can. So far, they’ve found plenty of good three-point opportunities, and that led to 11 unanswered points until a couple of baskets by Butler.

VCU has also done a nice job stopping Butler from setting their offense, and Butler has at times seemed to willing to play the game on VCU's terms – Butler might do well to look for opportunities to slow things down. If not, this will be a very fast-paced game. That’s a game VCU can win, especially if the Rams feel they can rely on their bench.
