Penguins vs. Sabres: Evgeni Malkin Out Against Buffalo

The Penguins star center will miss his third game of the season on Saturday night against Buffalo.

If the Penguins are going to keep their five-game point streak going Saturday night against the Sabres, they're going to have to do it without center Evgeni Malkin.

The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review's Rob Rossi tweets:

Malkin logged 22:25 of ice time and earned assists on both of James Neal's goals for Pittsburgh on Thursday night against the Capitals, but it appears his injury is flaring up once again. Rossi tweeted yesterday that Malkin's scar from his surgery last season is still sore, so that's presumably what's giving him trouble today.

This shouldn't necessarily be much of a problem going forward, but Saturday's game will be the third matchup in six this season that the star center has missed.

The game against the Sabres is at 7:00 and will be broadcast on ROOT Sports.
