Penguins vs. Wild: Evgeni Malkin To Miss Game In Minnesota

Stay connected for news and updates

The Penguins will be without their star center again Tuesday night.

The Penguins had a rough go of things on Monday night in Winnipeg as Evgeni Malkin missed his second straight game while Tyler Kennedy was kept out of the lineup with concussion-like symptoms. It doesn't look like things are due to get any better on Tuesday night against the Wild, either, as Dejan Kovacevic of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports.

Evgeni Malkin, another of those four players, will not play Tuesday in Minnesota, Shero said Monday night. The Penguins previously had not ruled that out.

Kovacevic also said backup goalie Brent Johnson is expected to get the start in net against Minnesota after Marc Andre-Fleury got the call against Winnipeg. He is 0-0-2 this season with a .926 save percentage and a 1.88 goals against average. In his last outing, he gave up just one goal on 35 shots against Edmonton before getting bested in a shootout. Johnson has two career shutouts against the Wild in his career.
