Penguins Vs. Canadiens Result: Kris Letang's Overtime Goal Puts Pens Over The Top

The Penguins were down 3-1 in the second period of Saturday night’s game against the Montreal Canadiens, but they scored three unanswered goals and won 4-3, with Kris Letang scoring the winner in overtime.

Evgeni Malkin scored almost immediately in the first period for the Pens, but the Canadiens’ Travis Moen quickly answered. Montreal then added goals by Max Pacioretty and Erik Cole to make it 3-1.

Paul Martin made a great pass to Pascal Dupuis as the Pens narrowed the gap to 3-2 late in the second period, however, and Jordan Staal tied the game on a breakaway late in the third. Letang came back after taking a tough hit and eventually scored the overtime goal, which came as the last in a series of chances against Montreal goalie Carey Price.

Price who registered 38 saves in the game. Marc-Andre Fleury had 24 saves for the Pens.

The Pens are now 14-6-4. They next travel to New York, to face the Rangers on Tuesday.
