Penguins Vs. Red Wings: Sidney Crosby Likely Out; Unclear When He Will Return

The Penguins take on the Red Wings this Tuesday, but will likely have to do so without Sidney Crosby.

Pittsburgh Penguins star Sidney Crosby is likely out for Tuesday's rematch of the 2009 Stanley Cup Finals against the Detroit Red Wings as he continues to recover from a hit he took last Monday against the Boston Bruins. He did not participate in this Monday's practice, but did address the media.

"I'm not feeling bad," he said. "I just have to be careful and make sure I'm 100 percent before I return to the ice."

It is unclear when he will return.

Crosby's caution stems from his suffering a concussion last January which kept him out of the balance of the Penguins' schedule that season. He did not return to the ice until Nov. 21 - 20 games into the 2011/12 season - playing just eight of 10 games since.

Crosby has two goals and 10 assists this season, averaging a career-low 19:15 time on ice.

With or without Crosby, the puck drops Tuesday evening at 7:00 PM on Root Sports.
