Jaromir Jagr Rumors: Jagr Still Traveling, No Word Yet On Signing

Josh Yohe of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review tweets that at a quarter to five Wednesday, Jaromir Jagr’s agent Petr Svoboda says his client still has not landed in New York. Jagr is expected to make known his decision about whether or not to sign with the Penguins shortly after his plane touches down.

It sounds like Jagrwatch could go on into the evening. In the meantime, Twitter is abuzz with crazy rumors – that Jagr is already on a flight to Pittsburgh, and so on. He apparently isn’t, and no amount of tweeting will change that. The number of references I’ve seen to the fact that somebody already decided to list Jagr’s name on the Penguins’ roster on Wikipedia is, likewise, staggering. Jagr would be a nice addition to the Pens, in that he helps in a position of need and can contribute on the power play, and he’s certainly an important figure in the history of the organization. But the amount of hype that’s surrounding his arrival is pretty crazy. I half-expect that there are a bunch of Penguins fans running around JFK airport right now looking for him.
