Penguins Vs. Capitals Final Score: Pittsburgh Falls To Rival, 1-0

Stay connected for news and updates

The Pittsburgh Penguins were looking to pick up a win over rival Washington Capitals with Sidney Crosby still out, dealing with a concussion. The Penguins fell short however, falling to the Caps 1-0 at the end of regulation. Jason Chimera picked up a goal in the first period to take the early lead, assisted by Jeff Halpern and Joel Ward. The goal by Chimera ended up being all the Caps needed for the win.

Despite outshooting the Capitals 30-21 and having less give aways, the Penguins just couldn't get the puck in the net. Unsurprisingly in a rivalry game, there was some fighting. Craig Adams and Matt Hendricks both picked up a 5-minute major for fighting in the second period, but outside of that the game was relatively clean.
