Hurricanes Vs. Penguins Game Preview: Pittsburgh Looks To Pick Up Third Straight Win

After a six-game losing streak, the Pittsburgh Penguins look to pick up their third straight victory in a matchup against the Carolina Hurricanes to the CONSOL Energy Center.

The Pittsburgh Penguins look to have finally righted the ship after suffering their longest losing stretch of the past six seasons after picking up two games in a row. The Penguins will look to pick up their third game in a row as they take on the Carolina Hurricanes. The Hurricanes got off to a rough start, but they've won three of their last four games.

The Penguins nearly fell back into a rut in their 6-3 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning after blowing their initial 3-0 lead, but thanks to a natural hat-trick by Evgeni Malkin, the Penguins pulled out their second win in a row. In Malkin's last six games against the Hurricanes he's picked up one goal with eight assists. James Neal has a goal and two assists in the last three meetings, of which the Penguins have taken two of three.

"When you're winning games and you have that confidence to score goals, you have that confidence to play the right way and do the right things," Neal told the Penguins' official website. "When you're in a slump with losing, it's tough to score goals."

The Penguins are hoping to stay on the right track against the Hurricanes Tuesday night.

The puck drops at 7:00 PM ET.
