The Pittsburgh Penguins' ownership have left New York City, bad news for NHL fans hoping for hockey this season.
Ron Burkle and Mario Lemieux were in New York on Thursday along with most of the Pittsburgh Penguins front office as the NHL and NHLPA continued to talk about the issues separating the two sides. The group planned to remain in New York as long as it appeared there was a chance of making progress toward a new deal, something all NHL fans would love to see.
According to Penguins' beat reporter Rob Rossi, Penguins' ownership is going to be leaving New York on Thursday, signaling that very little progress has been made:

Games have already been cancelled through December 14, and they are expected to be cancelled through the end of December if there is no significant movement by the weekend. The NHL could still implement a 56-game schedule if a deal can be reached in the next 7-10 days.
